Pink and Brown-Elephants?!

This baby gift set includes three hand made personalized baby bibs, a coordinating box, notecard and original canvas.

The canvas was done to match baby Emerson’s pink and brown bedding from Restoration Hardware. Baby Emerson has a soft pink and brown elephant mobile in her crib and that’s what inspired this canvas! In the canvas a mommy and baby elephant are holding trunks as they are give each other a flower. The elephants stand on a field of flowers that has the baby’s birth information “hidden” in it. The canvas is done in rich browns and many shades of pink to coordinate with the baby’s room.

Three bibs are done in stripes, dots, and a soft pink and all have personalized hand embroidered stitching. These fabrics were picked to coordinate with the baby’s bedding and room colors also. The multi colored dotted bib has “Emerson” hand embroidered in a wrapped back stitch, the striped fabric has the letter “E” done in a multitude of french knots, and the soft pink bib has baby Emerson’s monogram done in a stem stitch.

The coordinating box makes use of soft pink and brown card stock with hand embroidered  dark brown french knots on the warm pink card stock for added flair. The fun font (Gigi on MS Word) shows off Emerson’s full name on the keepsake box.

Emerson’s monogrammed personalized note card is done with a soft pink satin ribbon wrapped in a stripey effect on dark brown card stock. Emerson’s monogram is done in a warm brown and set on start white card stock in the card’s center.

The fun thing about all of these baby items is that they are useful (fancy bibs-can’t the bib be just as sweet as the dress?!), and can serve more than one purpose (the box makes a beautiful gift presentation and then can be displayed in the baby’s room and used to keep all those precious little keepsakes in!), and the card with the givers best wishes presents another wall art opportunity (or scrapbook addition!). The fact that the baby’s birth information is slightly “hidden” allows for the growth of the baby into a child who will still love that she has personalized artwork with her name on it-but doesn’t feel that it’s too “babyish” because the baby information is not too obvious.

Round Picnic table and matching benches

This round picnic table and rounded benches are too much fun-each bench sits two children or an adult comfortably. The adorable “kiwi” mini table umbrella I found at Lowes for less than 15$ (not including the stand). The table was cut using a jig saw after drawing out my circle (I made a makeshift compass with a pencil and string attached to the middle of the wouldbe table with a nail). I used a hole saw for the middle of the table, to allow the umbrella to fit neatly through. The benches were made using two approximately 24 inch 4X6’s-cutting one through the middle in a half circle, the circle with the concave half made the inside part of the bench, and the convex part made the outside of the bench (with a whole 24 inch piece sandwiched in between the other two). I used 12 inch 4X10’s to make the legs of the benches, and eight 22 inch 4X6’s to make up the four legs of the table. I used a deck stain in the color of “Forest Floor” to stain and seal the table and benches making it ready for lots of outdoor use. I love that this little table and benches are so sturdy and durable-my little guys have already gotten lots of use out of them! Playhouse Door Number! (Just like the one on the real house!)

Every play house needs it’s own address-just like Mom and Dad’s house! This house number was meant to be a replica of the one on the “real” house. The play one, though, is cut from a spare piece of plywood, sanded, and hand painted. The original was a gift from Aunt Carolyn and Uncle John years ago. Thank you again, guys! As you can tell, we have enjoyed it and are enjoying it still! For your own hand made kids art e-mail me at shannon@coffeycreationsforkids.com !

Tree Bookcase/toy holder

This tree has lots of “hidden” shelves for books, toys, stuffed animals, whatever little Sam wants to put in it! It also has a “burrow hole” at the base of the trunk for a bunnny-or in this case Pooh Bear, and another hole midway up the trunk-where there’s an owl peeking out! Some of the shelves are parallel to the floor, others are slightly skewed with edging at the end to help stack all of those board books of miscellaneous sizes. There are also several “cuphooks” to hang fun things from the branches-like the birdhouse! This tree was sketched by hand, cut, sanded and hand painted just for little Sam. The tree is painted varying shades of brown with some ivory and light moss greens to emulate moss growing on the branches, there are even a few “broken limb” spots. I’m sure Sam will have lots of fun playing with his animals in his tree in his nature inspired bedroom! For your own custom children’s items e-mail me at shannon@coffeycreationsforkids.com !

Three Frogs (for Sam)

This painting was done especially for Sam for his 2nd birthday! If you look closely you can see the “S” on the first frog, the “a” on the second frog, and the “m” on the third frog. These frogs were done based on the book Tuesday, by David Wiesner .

Presidential Canvas-With children’s birth info!

This canvas is for a family of three boys who are each named after a President. How cool is that?! And according to MY three boys, “Mr. Hugus is the best!” Mr. Hugus is the shchool gym teacher and has an enthusiasm for kids and fun that cannot be beat. From games like Toilet Tag and the Jump Rope contests, he inspires us all and instills in our children that exercise can be fun!  He and his wife just added another little guy-Lincoln to their family this fall. This canvas includes all of the Hugus boys’ names and birth information, incorporated into a modified Presidential Seal. This Presidential seal shows off our past presidents and the boys’ namesakes; Lincoln, Carter, and Jackson. Thanks again so much for all you do Mr. Hugus! My little guys can’t wait till you’re their teacher, (big brother Cole has had Mr. Hugus for gym for 3 years now)!

Lady Bug! Knee Socks/Hair Clip/Handpainted Box

Who doesn’t love ladybugs?! And “Ladybug Girl”! I saw this book and just loved it-a little girl out to prove that she is not too little. The knee socks each have a hand made ladybug with embroidery detailing, a little hair clip to match, and of course a hand painted personalized box to store everything in! Oh, I’m already thinking of how much fun it would be to make a ladybug tutu, shirt (LBG on it, of course), lady bug wings, how about a fun stuffed dog named Bingo like LBG’s?! Too many fun things to do and not enough time! A mom told me how much she loved knee socks for her daughter instead of tights-easier up and down for pottying and they don’t sag (myself having three boys, I had no idea…). Thanks mom (Debbie)! Hope Samantha loves her lady bug fun stuff! Email me at shannon@coffeycreationsforkids.com for your own custom kids creations!

Claudia’s Pet Shop Palace!

This “Pet Shop Palace” was made for all of Claudia’s Littlest Pet Shop creatures.  The shelving was all handcrafted and hand painted especially for Claudia! There’s a balcony especially for Niku-the littlest hamster who has been with Claudia ever since she was a baby-he even has his own sign “Niku’s Pad”. The Palace is set up as a shelving system with two opening doors attached to the front middle made in the shape of a house. The house doors have six larger windows (two with flower pots and flowers), four circular windows and two mini doors that open at the bottom. There is a fireplace set up with a couch on the left, two additional mantles  or mini shelving, three additional mini shelves (one with a magnetic strip to attach more pet shop guys!), and a magnetic flower on the bottom right. The palace is enhanced with artwork depicting several different scenes to go with all of the different types of Pet Shop animals that Claudia has. Open the large house doors to see an aquarium on the top level (with a mini shelf to place a fish or other sea creature), the next level down sports scatter flat ferns and the flat trees as seen in Africa for Claudia’s safari animals, and the next level down is a desert scene also with a mini shelf to perch a lizard getting warmed up in the sun! On the bottom right of the palace is a flower garden with a magnetic flower to attach a butterfly or ladybug pet shop pet to. Notice when the large doors are opened the additional wooden pieces on the left and right- these were made to perch pet shop creatures on and actually hang them from, Claudia’s name is “hidden” in the swirly designs painted on them. A sign with “Claudia’s Pet Shop Palace” and the address of her palace is hung from the shelving from cathedral chains.  This project isn’t quite yet completed-check back again for more details! Thanksgiving Door Sign

Show off your little lovies handprint turkeys and bring them them out again year after year! I love being able to look back and see how small those little hands were.  The kids love it, too-comparing the size of their hands and how they’ve grown! This sign was made using a heavy duck cloth type material, permanent markers, satin ribbon, two buttons and embroidery floss, fabric tac, and a little piece of cardboard to keep the backing straight. That fabric tac stuff is great! Here are some fun Felt Handprint Turkey decorations, a  Thanksgiving food toss game, and a Handprint Turkey T-shirt! Know someone that would love this?  Purchase your very own Thanksgiving Door Sign Kit-the hanging already made with the paints and sponge brush included just waiting for your own little one’s handprint!
