Hampton’s Mini Circus Tent and Action Figures!

Oh my! I LOVED doing this project! A mini tent to match Hampton’s own Circus tent! Plus a lion, a step stool for him to leap through his ring of fire on, and the ringmaster himself! I hope Hampton will have lots of fun with his circus themed toys that match his room’s theme and bedding! The mini tent has Hampton’s monogram hand embroidered above the little door in a back stitch. The tent also has a little flag on top and a circle window in the back-just like Hampton’s big one! The lion is made of a supersoft tan suede with an ivory fur on the alternate side. The lion’s mane is the ivory fur, while his little face, body, and tail are the tan suede with tufts of the ivory fur on his feet, tail and around his face. The ring of fire is made of a soft white muslin and the fire is hand painted onto the material. The base of the ring of fire  has stuffing and a bit of rice to keep it standing for lots of fun pretend play! The ring’s shape is kept by using a bit of covered stem wire, and the base of the ring is covered in material that coordinates with the tent. The ring master has hand embroidery accents for his facial features, he has a satin bow tie to go with his tux and tails! The ring master also has a dark brown satin rimmed top hat, cuffed pants, a flower on his tux jacket and he himself is made of a soft pill resistant ivory fleece. Bunny and Chick Finger Puppets

These little finger puppets were pretty easy to do, and fun too! I found the pattern for the rabbit on Martha Stewart’s website and made just a few little changes:I used a straight stitch up the front of the bunny (easier and the blanket stitch would have made the opening too small for a finger!), and I added whiskers to the bunny by threading a small piece of embroidery floss through the nose area, spreading out the threads and spraying on a smidge of “Stiffen quick”! I also used pill resistant ivory fleece for the bunny bodies and a pinch of stuffing for the head instead of a cotton ball. Ta-da! I made the chicks by cutting basically a rounded off rectanglular shape cut about as tall as 3/4 of your index finger. Using slightly different shapes allow for different looking chicks as you can see in the photos! I used a soft furry yellow cuddle fleece, machine sewed the seam with the material inside out (fold material in half and sew along the top  where your finger tip would be and down along the side), turned out the material, added french knots for the black eyes, cut out a little orange felt beak (diamond shaped then fold in the middle), wing shapes and a tail and attached those with fabric tac!  Keep checking back for more fun ideas for your kids or e-mail me at shannon@coffeycreationsforkids.com to make your kids party favors or any custom children’s items!

Lyla’s Easter Basket

This soft pink basket has a basket liner made especially for Lyla! The interior of the liner is a soft pink chenille, the outer portion of the liner is a soft white muslin and has Lyla’s name  hand embroidered in a  french knots. The pink chenille is attached to the white muslin with a white galloon lace-to coordinate with Lyla’s bedding and all of her fun things! The liner is trimmed in mini white puff balls, and the side ties are white satin ribbon criss-crossed around pink chenille covered buttons and tied in a pretty bow.
