Virginia’s Room Signs

Welcome to Virginia’s room! Where you can play Hair Salon, Nail Salon, and House! You can also get a cup of coffey at the “Coffey” shop or add to your Knowledge at Virginia’s Center for Learning. There is also a sign just to enter Virginia’s “Room”!  The main sign is made to hang on a door or wall and the three reversible signs can be easily taken on and off by hooking onto the hanging white cathedral chains. The three smaller signs allow for six different types of pretend play. These signs are hand crafted and hand painted. For your own custom signs email me at shannon@coffeycreationsforkids !

Dad, “What Happened to my pants (and shirt)?!”

These fun appliques and pants were made from Dad’s old pants and shirt. I love the fun pants with the original pockets from Dad’s pants-how cool is that?! Appliques are fairly easy to do, try Light Steam-a-Seam 2 double sided fusible webbing (available at JoAnn Fabrics). Trace or draw your shape onto the paper, peel off top layer of paper, attach sticky part to fabric, and cut out your shape. Iron as directed. You really don’t need to do any embroidery, this stuff works really well! I added some straight stitching, back stitching, and french knots to add a bit of dimension to the animals. The first set( with the puppy) are made from the mens pants. These kids pants are great for toddlers-no zipper, just elastic!  So, easy up and easy down. The second set ( with the dinosaur) are made out of a mens t-shirt and are soft and comfy, perfect for PJ’s! Then, oh my-the purse! Something for daddy’s little girl! The four large pockets are perfect for making pockets inside and on the outside of the purse. Two more pockets are made from the placement of the pockets themselves, then add a side pocket for glasses or a cell phone (velcro closure), fun “what are those tiny pockets for?” from the pants added to the side, and I even used the adjustable belt from the pants to make the purse handle adjustable also.  I embroidered a backstitched “H” for Hailey, a few french knots to fancy it up, and a magnetic closure for the middle so you don’t lose your fun stuff, and she is ready to go! Sorry, Dad! Too much fun with those pants of yours!  For your own custom made Green Wear e-mail me at shannon@coffeycreationsforkids.com !

Folded Ribbon Rose

I’ve been wanting to try this one for a while! This rose was made using a satin ribbon and then attached with embroidery floss. The bow and extra ribbon accents were attached to the turtleneck with french knotted silver embroidery floss. I’m already thinking of all the fun possibilities for little girls!

Little Boy Bathrobe

I made these little robes for my first little boy-6 and 5 years ago (respectively)! Now little guy number three is wearing the baby blue robe, and guy number two is wearing the striped one. Wish I could find the photo of my first guy in them, hmmpfh! The baby blue bathrobe is made of a soft pill resistant fleece and has white piping detailing. Soft inside and out, these little bathrobes are perfect for just out of the bath time. Especially for my little guys, who don’t like to wear any pajamas. What is up with that?! At least they’ll put on a robe till they’ve warmed up! The striped robe is also made of a pill resistant fleece. Notice the Kool-Aid mustaches-Kook-Aid still gets a smile after all these years! Baby Doll blanket and pillow

Three year old Julia LOVES to play with her dolls-and they’re always named Abby! She also loves Hello Kitty. I made an applique from a little bit of the Hello Kitty material left over from the pillow and centered it on the baby doll blanket, then I backstitched “Abby”  (in a funky font) on it for Julia’s favorite dollies. The blanket is framed with a gingham pink and white ribbon.  The pillow is the perfect size for getting  little dolls to sleep! Baby Girl Bibs

Isn’t baby Lyla the sweetest?! I just want to squeeze her! My favorite part of any project is getting to see the little ones in their coffey creations later! Thanks so much for sharing the photo Melissa!

These special baby bibs are made using some extra bits and pieces of the baby’s original bedding!  Why let any of that go to waste?! ( To see pillows using the same bedding material click here.) The white bib with the see-sawing bunnies has Lyla’s monogram on it in french knots, the hand-made applique is framed using white embroidery floss in a backstitch and then by wrapping silk embroidery ribbon around it. The front of the bib is a soft white cotton and the back is a soft contrasting baby blue cotton. The blue bib has little Lyla’s carousel theme on it.(Click here to see Lyla’s custom carousel!) The carousel applique is framed using white silk ribbon in a stem stitch. The blue on this bib is a soft cotton and the backing is a soft bumpy cuddle fleece. The white bib with Lyla embroidered in a soft blue chain stitch has a mommy bunny picking flowers on it. (Check out Lyla’s mommy bunny embroidered baby pillow!) The applique is framed in a wrapped backstitch using the same blue embroidery floss. This bib has a soft white cotton front and baby blue cotton backing. The pink bib also has a mommy bunny applique on it, the applique is framed in a darker pink silk ribbon in a stem stitch and baby Lyla’s name is worked in the same silk ribbon in a backstitch. The backing of the pink bib is a soft ultra cuddle fleece. All bibs have several dot velcro closures-so they can be made a bit bigger or a bit smaller! Check out some of baby Lyla’s other coordinating items: Lyla Rabbit Canvas, Lyla Rabbit mini blanket, Hot Air Balloon Bunny Mobile, Lyla Baby Name Blocks. Hampton’s Circus Tent

Check out little Hampton in his very own Circus tent!!! What a little cutie!

This is a circus tent fit for a little king! Hampton’s tent has door flaps inside that tie back or can be left down in the closed position. A circular window at the back of the tent allows lots of fun peek-a-boo play! Inside the tent Hampton will find lots of fun animals that match his bedding. A lion and lioness, a turtle, giraffe, camel, rabbit, and elephant that are painted on fabric and attached to a stiff interfacing. These fun circus animals attach to velcro inside of the tent. They can be taken on and off or moved around for games involving animal recognition or learning animal sounds. There are two sets of pockets inside of the tent to store small toys or books-kids just love to put things in and take them out again! On the ceiling of the circus tent are glow in the dark stars-just shine a flashlight on them, then turn the lights out and lay back for the Circus star show! Also on the ceiling interior of the tent are two velcro attachments and three small ties to attach toys of your choice for your child to view or try to jump and grab!  Hampton also has his very own circus tent sign and flag bearing his first initial! Also check out Hampton’s matching Noah’s Ark, baby mini-blanket, sham and pillowregular sized blanket, stuffed animals and canvas. Hampton has also personalized notecards, a baptism invitation and unique animal and circus notecards-all that coordinate with his bedding and room! Hello Kitty Mod Shopper Bag

This fun school bag was made especially for Julia! It goes with her Hello Kitty Wall Art and Mod Shopper bedding. The kitty was made with bits of fabric attached to the bag with fusible webbing and a little bit of embroidery floss. Hello Kitty’s bags have silk embroidery ribbon handles. Her extra bags have grossgrain ribbon handles, button, bead, and embroidery detailing. Julia’s first name is cut out of fabric and attached with fusible webbing on the front of the bag, her full name is spelled out in fun beads and sewn onto the back of the bag. Hello Kitty has bought several presents for Julia and they are wrapped and stacked in a big pile on the back of Julia’s bag.  Julia is ready for school!
